Zanzibar is arguably one of the best locations in the world in regards to the breadth of kitesurfing options available. Most of the East side of the Island (Bwejuu/ Paje) is surrounded by a lagoon with super flat water inside, and a small-medium wave breaking at the sand reef outside. The launch and riding area consists of sandy bottoms with few obstructions. Water depth changes daily from shallow waters that go out with the tide, giving way to endless beach, reverting to deeper waters at high tides. The best seasons are: July to September and December to February.

Beginners & advanced kiters alike are also taken care of, as inside the reef there is a huge mass of flat, warm, waist deep turquoise green clear water for beginners to learn & advanced kiters to progress their tricks whilst surf style kiters have the choice of venturing into the waves on the nearby reef. Many kite schools are opened and offer excellent lessons. Contact us for bookings.
